The phenomenon that is Snow Patrol has released a two-CD “best-of” album called Up To Now in time for Christmas. The band also has a new single out, entitled Just Say Yes, to promote the 30-song CD (and a special CD/DVD/vinyl boxset) which also playlists previous hits Run, Chocolate and Chasing Cars.

TOM MCSHANE is a musician from Northern Ireland. His first releases, the lo-fi, home recorded “Songs Are Sad” and the follow-up album, “Departures” have attracted critical acclaim. Co-produced by Oppenheimer’s Rocky O’Reilly, the bejeweled and brassy “Fighter” represents the latest peak of Tom’s compositional powers. As well as drawing on the lo-fi influence of Smog, Nick Drake and Mount Eerie, the mood also calls to mind the dark tone of one of Tom’s biggest heroes: Charles Mingus.

Invitation is the title of the 6th in a series of self-produced CD albums from prolific singer-songwriter Fra Donaghy. Co. Down singer-songwriter Paula McAleese [MySpace] began performing around Belfast back in 2003, playing her first gig in at the Pavillion Bar “Saturday Night Live Line-up”. She then joined a band called Amoruza [MySpace] as lead vocalist and songwriter, performing across Ulster. Amoruza released its first EP entitled Discover in late 2004.
