Established in 2000, McIlroy Guitars specialises in the manufacture of high-end hand-made acoustic guitars, mainly for export, which combine traditional design with a modern twist. The instruments were recently reviewed in the September 2008 issue of The Acoustic Magazine. The Co. Antrim firm recently secured its first sales in Japan, and has increased sales across Europe following an exhibition at the Frankfurt Music Show back in March supported by Invest NI. This event also led to renowned Italian fingerstyle guitarists Franco Morone, Davide Mastrangelo and Gabriele Possenti inviting the company to host a guitar workshop in Tolentino, Italy.
