New licks for guitarists

July 1, 2008 |

Do you want to play better guitar? When was the last time you learnt a new chord, lick, bass-line or technique? Can you read music? The Registry of Guitar Tutors publishes an annual UK and International Directory of guitar tutors, and organises regular music education conferences and training seminars. RGT was established in 1992 with the aims of improving the status and profile of guitar teachers, and helping to ensure their professional recognition within the mainstream of music education, by the establishment of an accredited range of teaching programmes. Guitarists too often skip over large chunks of information that other instrumentalists get to learn. Reading music and understanding musical concepts should be an important piece of the puzzle for both guitar teachers and guitar students.

I recommend the software at www.musicked.com which takes all instrumentalists (including guitarists and vocalists) through a set of sequential musical concepts in a concise and thorough manner.

    Cheers!
