Andy White GaragebandBelfast-born singer-songwriter Andy White [son of Belfast Telegraph newspaper columnist Barry White - ed] crashed the Ulster music scene 21 years ago with his debut album “Rave on Andy White” - allegedly recorded in a field in bucolic Randalstown, Co. Antrim. Today, White is best known for his songs James Joyce’s Grave, Street Scenes From My Heart and his first single, Religious Persuasion. His latest and ninth album “Garageband” (on Floating World Records) features more songs about love and impending disaster and was primarily recorded at Peter Gabriel’s salubrious Real World Studios [link] near Bath, England and produced by John Leckie, the acclaimed British producer of Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Muse, and Roy Harper. White’s UK tour starts on Friday, May 9 with a special show at Belfast’s Oh Yeah centre for the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival [link]; he plays his oldest and newest albums as Parts 1 and Part 2 of the concert. Special guests are expected.
