Back to Mary Black: 25 songs, 25 years
March 18, 2008 |
Mary Black is the title of the March 14 released CD album compilation of digitally remastered tracks picked from the successful 25-year recording career of one Mary Black. [to hype the launch, the label is running a prize quiz - ed]. Black’s first eponymous 1983 solo album reached no.4 in the Ireland album charts and won the Irish Independent “Arts Award for Music”, the first in a slew of prestigious awards. This album gathers 25 of Black’s most popular songs recorded over that quarter-century period: herself has recorded two new songs for this compilation: Sweet Love and If I had To Go. The other 23 tracks have been digitally remastered from the original master tapes - 4 have been specially remixed. More: www.mary-black.net
