Dan Forshaw: sax in Belfast city
March 12, 2008 |
Belfast-based saxophonist Dan Forshaw was hailed as “one of the finest young tenor players in the north west” at the 2004 Southport International Jazz festival. A highly accomplished and versatile player, Dan does a lot of session work - and lectures in jazz and music technology. But Dan’s reputation as a player has been established by the break-through style of the Dan Forshaw Quintet (a.k.a. DFQ). After a spell in New York City back in 2005, Lancashire-born Dan moved to London, England - but after his nuptials in 2007, Dan relocated to New Belfast City, Co. Antrim. Dan plays sax, clarinet, flute, and tin whistle and teaches the same, plus jazz piano. Envious? More: http://www.danforshaw.com; contact Dan Forshaw +44/0 7968 528-929 dan@danforshaw.com
