Logan runs into Bodog battle
January 15, 2008 |
Lisburn rock band Exit are the only Ulster act to make the all-Ireland finals of the Bodog Music “Battle of the Bands“. This Irish heat is part of a worldwide search for the best unsigned bands and will be featured on US music channel VH1. Exit are a hard-hitting anthemic melodic rock four-piece, formed by cousins Chris Logan (UK Musician Of The Year 2002) and Shane Watters. Their stated aim is to bring proper rock and roll, quality song-craft and entertainment values back to the main-stage of modern music. More www.exitrock.co.uk This particular “Battle of the Bands” competition is hosted by American record label Bodog Music, who will offer the winning band a $1 million recording contract. After being chosen from thousands of bands across Ireland via internet judging, getting through several live rounds, Exit finally won through the semi-finals in Dublin. The band must now fight it out in the all-Ireland finals in Dublin’s Tripod venue on January 20.
“In order to get through to the next round, we need all the support we can get to come down and cheer us on in Dublin,” said band member Chris Logan. “We will be running a bus from Belfast to Dublin that will pick people up at Belfast City Hall, leave them down to Dublin and return back again that night after the gig. Tickets for the gig-bus package are available from the band for £10.” E-mail exitonline@hotmail.co.uk with your mail address to secure a ticket by post.
