Over-40’s dig mp3 too
November 26, 2007 |
According to a report in The Register, 45% of the UK population listen to an mp3 player more than four times a week. Market research company Frukt polled over 900 UK inhabitants and discovered that it isn’t just the youth taking their tunes with them: 19% of over-40’s are equally attached to their mp3 players, though that compares to 73% of 13- to 15-year-olds. 41% percent of 13- to 15-year-olds also regularly listen to music on their mobile phones, though that drops to 4% for the over-40’s. However, over-40s do beat the kids when it comes to on-line radio - 21% regularly tune in on their PC, while only 16% of the ‘yoof’ can sit still for that long. A startling statistic is that two thirds of the population reckon they’re listening to more music today than ever before, thanks to technology, though obviously “…kids today have no idea what real music is“.
