UM/mp3: Musician and former Genesis frontman Peter Gabriel has advanced plans to launch We7, a music download website that aims to benefit both music listeners and musicians. Registered users will shortly be able to download music for free, but adverts “embedded” into each track will provide a revenue stream for recording artists. We7 aims to be one of the major music download destinations within months. The beta version of We7 is already up and running.
